PENAMPANG, SABAH, MALAYSIA December 31, 2025 – Jannie Lasimbang, the former Assemblywoman (ADUN) for Kapayan who served the constituency for two terms under the Democratic Action Party (DAP), has shared a heartfelt New Year’s message as Sabah enters 2026.
In a social media post, Lasimbang extended warm greetings for the new year, wishing strength and resilience to all. She humbly sought forgiveness for any shortcomings during her tenure representing Kapayan, reflecting on her service to the community in Penampang district.
Looking ahead, Lasimbang announced that her dedicated small team will open a new Service Centre in January 2026. The centre will serve as a hub for ongoing community support while the team charts its future direction.
Emphasising collaboration, she extended an open invitation to individuals, groups, government agencies, and the private sector to partner with her and her team for the betterment of Kapayan, Penampang, and Sabah as a whole.
The message concluded with blessings and thanks, accompanied by team contributions conveying hope, resilience, gratitude, and progress for the year ahead.
Lasimbang’s post comes weeks after the November 2025 Sabah state election, where she lost her bid for a third term in a highly contested multi-cornered fight. The Kapayan seat was won by Warisan candidate Chin Tek Ming, contributing to DAP’s complete wipeout in the state polls.
Despite the electoral setback, Lasimbang’s announcement signals her continued commitment to public service outside formal elected office, focusing on grassroots initiatives in her home constituency.
