HULU LANGAT, SELANGOR, MALAYSIA December 14, 2025 – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) today launched the MADANI Adopted Village Programme (KAM) in Kampung Sungai Lui, Batu 20, Hulu Langat, Selangor, as an effort to empower rural communities in line with the Prime Minister’s call regarding rural area development.
This programme, selected as the KBS KAM location for 2025, is implemented in collaboration with various agencies including the Selangor State Youth and Sports Department (JBS), National Youth Higher Skills Institute (IKTBN) Dusun Tua, Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj), Hulu Langat District and Land Office, Hulu Langat District Youth Council, as well as local youth associations and communities.
According to the KBS media release, various physical projects have been carried out to upgrade community infrastructure. Among them include upgrading two multipurpose courts in Lorong 3, road paving works and vehicle parking areas at Kampung Sungai Lui Mosque, upgrading the Community Centre along with repairing furniture, as well as repairing the covered silat court at Sungai Lui National School. In addition, repair works on the Multipurpose Hall and repairs to the futsal and netball courts have also been implemented.
In addition to physical development, KBS has also implemented various youth and sports development programmes to build skills and community spirit. The list of programmes includes gotong-royong to maintain the electrical wiring system, air conditioning and funeral van at the mosque; Rakan Muda@Hulu Langat Promotional Tour; Youth Entrepreneur Development Programme; Sports@Sg. Lui Community (traditional sports); Riff & Rhythm – Youth Music Class; Startup Squad – Basic Artificial Intelligence (AI) Course, Basics of Sports and Youth Body Registration; Village Festival in Conjunction with KBS MADANI Adopted Village 2025; Community Plogging with Satria@Sg Lui; Shuttle Hustle – Badminton Clinic@ Sg. Lui; Funkick Futsal Sg. Lui; Mini Rakan Muda Carnival; Youth Bootcamp ‘Rise & Lead’; and Smash & Serve – Pickleball Clinic@ Sg Lui.
“This MADANI Adopted Village Programme is believed to provide positive and long-lasting impacts to the Kampung Sungai Lui community through the provision of better facilities and comprehensive youth development opportunities,” said the media release.
KBS hopes that the local community can fully utilise the facilities and programmes provided, while continuing to collaborate to ensure the project’s continuity. This is in line with the MADANI government’s aspirations for the well-being of rural societies, where Kampung Sungai Lui is expected to develop as a progressive, sustainable and prosperous community.
