Flood Crisis in Sabah: PM Anwar Approves RM21 Million in Aid, Mobilizes Immediate Relief Efforts

KOTA KINABALU, SABAH, Malaysia, Sept 15, 2025 – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed deep concern over the devastating impact of floods currently ravaging Sabah, pledging swift government action to support affected communities. In a statement today, he announced the mobilization of all MADANI Government resources to ensure immediate aid reaches flood victims without delay, prioritizing their safety, welfare, and survival.

In addition to RM11 million already allocated through the state government, Anwar approved an urgent RM10 million fund through the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) to facilitate rapid repairs to essential infrastructure and provide direct assistance to those affected.

“The MADANI Government is committed to ensuring every impacted family receives prompt aid,” Anwar emphasized.

He called for unity and collective responsibility, urging all parties to come together in a spirit of compassion to support the people of Sabah during this crisis. “Let us demonstrate solidarity, care, and shared responsibility in facing this severe challenge,” he added.

The Prime Minister’s directive underscores the government’s focus on delivering effective and timely relief to flood victims as Sabah battles the ongoing disaster.
