Loke emphasized Malaysia’s vision to transform KLIA into a major air cargo hub for ASEAN, aligning with JD.com’s strategy to expand its trade network across the region and China. He reiterated the shared goal of creating an “Air Silk Road” to enhance civil aviation and logistics cooperation between ASEAN and China, as outlined in the Malaysia-China Joint Statement.

During the meeting, Loke invited JD.com to invest in a Smart Warehouse at Selangor Aeropark, a move aimed at bolstering KLIA’s role as a regional logistics hub and facilitating greater market access for Malaysian and ASEAN products in China.

JD.com, China’s leading e-commerce platform with over 551 million active users, operates an advanced logistics network and has a growing presence in Malaysia with four warehouses. Its expertise in global logistics, warehousing, and cross-border freight positions it as a key partner in strengthening Malaysia’s logistics ecosystem and ASEAN-China trade ties.
