MELAKA Aug 15, 2026 – A total of 3,210 food and beverage premises nationwide have registered under the Menu RAHMAH programme as of July 2026, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) announced.
The figure marks an increase from 3,182 registrations recorded in 2025. Food stalls and food courts (medan selera) form the largest group of participants, with 1,016 registrations.
KPDN said Menu RAHMAH is not a temporary scheme but part of the government’s continuous efforts to help the people access quality meals at affordable prices. The ministry continues to promote the initiative through the “Jom Cari Menu RAHMAH” programme and is working with more industry players, traders’ associations and food operators to expand its availability, including at Rest and Service Areas (R&R).
In parallel, the Program Jualan RAHMAH MADANI (PJRM) has also recorded strong results. As of July 2026, the programme had been implemented 19,322 times, exceeding the year’s target of 17,500 sessions. It generated 25,486,997 transactions nationwide.
PJRM offers savings of between 10 and 30 per cent compared with local market prices on essential items such as chicken, fish, eggs, cooking oil, flour, rice, vegetables, fruits and household goods. The sales are held across all 600 state constituencies (DUN) and 40 zones in the Federal Territories, with priority given to high-need areas and communities that have limited access to low-priced goods.
Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Senator Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said these efforts ensure that cost-of-living assistance reaches not only urban centres but also rural communities.
On 15 August 2026, Datuk Dr Fuziah officiated the Mini Karnival KPDN at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC). The three-day event (14–16 August) features 27 traders offering goods at affordable prices, business matching sessions, advisory services, stage activities and an e-sports tournament in collaboration with Todak.
Nearly 3,000 visitors attended on the first day, with numbers expected to rise over the remaining days.
“KPDN will continue to seek new approaches so that initiatives to ease the cost of living remain relevant, accessible and directly beneficial to the people. Menu RAHMAH will continue, PJRM will be further expanded, and we will keep finding ways to deliver more benefits to the rakyat,” she said.
