LENGGENG July 21, 2026 — Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed strong appreciation for the dedication of KEMAS (Jabatan Kemajuan Masyarakat) personnel in Negeri Sembilan, highlighting their role in shaping a generation that is balanced in both worldly knowledge and spiritual values.
Speaking at the Community Activity Centre (Dewan Pusat Kegiatan Masyarakat) in Kampung Pantai, Lenggeng yesterday afternoon, Zahid, who also serves as Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said he was impressed by the enthusiasm shown by KEMAS staff who filled the hall.
“I am very excited to see the spirit displayed by the KEMAS community in Negeri Sembilan,” he said. “Alhamdulillah, I am happy to meet and convey a message to those who devote themselves daily to educating children and empowering communities even in the most rural areas.”
Zahid emphasised that the strength of KEMAS lies not only in delivering quality early childhood education through its TABIKA KEMAS preschools but also in nurturing well-rounded individuals.
“The strength of KEMAS is not only in providing quality early education, but also in forming a generation that is balanced from the worldly and ukhrawi (spiritual) perspectives,” he noted. He added that the Pra-Tahfiz KEMAS programme is being continuously strengthened so that children grow with both academic knowledge and strong religious foundations that will serve them throughout life.
He also paid tribute to TABIKA KEMAS teachers for patiently guiding young children to love and understand the Quran from an early age. He expressed hope that the values and knowledge instilled would become ongoing good deeds and help produce future leaders of Negeri Sembilan who possess both knowledge and noble character.
Zahid thanked all KEMAS personnel in the state for their commitment and sacrifices, urging them to continue their efforts with full dedication.
“Every effort made today not only shapes the future of the children but also becomes the foundation for the progress of Negeri Sembilan and the well-being of all its people,” he said.
The event saw a large turnout of KEMAS staff, many dressed in their signature red uniforms, who responded enthusiastically to the Deputy Prime Minister’s address. The gathering focused on community development and early education initiatives in rural areas under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).
KEMAS operates thousands of TABIKA preschools nationwide, with a strong focus on early childhood education in rural and underserved communities. The Pra-Tahfiz programme integrates basic Quranic education into the preschool curriculum.
Zahid’s visit to Lenggeng is part of his ongoing engagement with KEMAS personnel across the country to strengthen grassroots community and education programmes.
