MIAMI, FLORIDA February 20, 2026 – U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced on Saturday that Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out a precise lethal kinetic strike against a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
The operation occurred on February 20, 2026, at the direct order of SOUTHCOM Commander Marine Gen. Francis L. Donovan. Intelligence sources confirmed the vessel was actively engaged in narco-trafficking operations along established smuggling routes.
“Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed,” the official SOUTHCOM statement read.
The strike is the latest in a sustained campaign under Operation Southern Spear, aimed at dismantling narco-terrorist networks that threaten regional security and fuel the flow of illicit drugs toward the United States. SOUTHCOM has reported multiple similar successful actions in recent weeks, including strikes on February 16 that neutralized 11 individuals across three vessels.
Accompanying the announcement is video footage released by SOUTHCOM showing the strike’s execution on the target vessel.
This operation reflects the U.S. military’s continued commitment to countering transnational criminal organizations designated as terrorist threats in the Western Hemisphere.
