KLANG. Malaysia, July 28, 2025 – The Turun Anwar rally, while not drawing the massive crowds anticipated, sent a clear message of mounting frustration among Malaysians, said Klang MP Ganabatirau Veraman in a statement today. He described the rally as a “wake-up call” reflecting economic, social, and political unease across communities, including Malays, Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli, Sabahans, and Sarawakians.

Highlighting the notable absence of the Indian community, Ganabatirau attributed it to political fatigue rather than apathy. “Years of unfulfilled promises, marginalisation, and systemic neglect have worn them down,” he said, warning that their silence could translate into a stronger response at the polls if grievances remain unaddressed.
The MP expressed frustration over the lack of response to issues raised by Indian parliamentarians through letters, public statements, and parliamentary sessions. “The perception is that we’ve done nothing, damaging our credibility despite our sincere efforts,” he said, urging the government to move beyond temporary aid and commit to structural solutions.
Ganabatirau called for a special parliamentary caucus to address rising public concerns, emphasizing the need for consistent dialogue with the rakyat. “Let us stop talking about the people and start talking with them,” he said, praising the Royal Malaysian Police, security personnel, and media for ensuring the rally remained peaceful.
Quoting the Thirukkural, he stressed the importance of just leadership: “The king who rules with justice and understanding, free from bias, stands tall and without reproach.” He urged the government to embody this principle, warning that dismissing public dissatisfaction risks further eroding trust.
“The rakyat have spoken peacefully, a sign of our democratic maturity,” Ganabatirau said. “To lead justly is to listen, act, and uplift. The people deserve nothing less.”
