WASHINGTON, D.C. May 6, 2026 (Life News Agency) — President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted military mothers at the White House on Wednesday to recognize their profound sacrifices and unwavering service to the nation during Mother’s Day week.
The event, held in the East Room, brought together veterans, active-duty service members, proud spouses, and parents of those serving in uniform. In his remarks, President Trump praised the women for their extraordinary contributions.
“The women in this room have sacrificed for our country in countless ways,” Trump said. “Among you are veterans and active duty service members, proud spouses, and the parents of those who serve in uniform. Amazing people. The most amazing people.”
Trump detailed the personal challenges these mothers face, including missed holidays, birthday parties, graduations, and even a child’s first words, along with frequent relocations due to military life.
“Many of you have missed cherished moments,” he continued. “You’ve spent so much time taking care of the ones that you love. You miss holidays, birthday parties, graduations, or even a child’s first words. Others have moved more times than anybody can even count.”
He emphasized that these sacrifices stem from a deep love for America: “All because of your love for America, for our country. This week as we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day, we take this opportunity… thanking everyone for their incredible work… for the incredible job you do with love.”
First Lady Melania Trump joined the president in honoring the guests, highlighting the vital role military mothers play as the backbone of America’s armed forces and families.
The gathering underscores the administration’s focus on supporting military families amid ongoing global commitments. Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, May 10.
The White House shared video highlights of the event on X, calling it a tribute to “the commendable women who have sacrificed so much in defense of freedom.”
