ALOR SETAR, KEDAH, Malaysia Aug 8, 2025 – The nation mourns the loss of Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Corporal Mohd Hafizul Izham bin Mazlan, who was killed in the line of duty while apprehending a suspect in a robbery case in Alor Setar, Kedah, yesterday evening.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail expressed profound sadness over the tragic news, describing the fallen officer’s death as a significant loss to the PDRM and the country’s security forces.
In a statement, the minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late corporal, praying for their strength in facing this immense loss. “May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings, place his soul among the righteous, and reward his invaluable contributions to the nation,” he said.
Quoting the Islamic phrase *Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un* (Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return), the minister also recited *Al-Fatihah* in honor of the deceased.
