KUALA LUMPUR, May 29, 2025 — Tourism Malaysia has teamed up with digital travel platform Agoda in a strategic move to position Malaysia as a premier Southeast Asian destination ahead of the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign. The two-year partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC), aims to showcase Malaysia’s vibrant cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and urban attractions to travelers worldwide.

The collaboration will feature targeted digital campaigns, leveraging Agoda’s platform and social media to promote Malaysia’s culinary scene, natural wonders, and diverse experiences. With a goal of attracting 45 million international visitors this year, Tourism Malaysia will tap into Agoda’s global travel insights to refine its promotional strategies and policy planning for both international and domestic markets.

Fabian Teja, Agoda’s Country Director for Malaysia, emphasized the platform’s commitment to connecting global travelers with Malaysia’s unique offerings, from lush rainforests to rich cultural landmarks.
The partnership will also include joint workshops on traveler behavior and sustainable tourism to enhance user experiences and promote Malaysia’s diverse destinations. This initiative underscores both organizations’ dedication to driving tourism growth and ensuring the success of VM2026.
