A celebration of Malaysian culture featuring the “Penjaga Warisan” brand film, bespoke
craftsmanship by Sofia Iman, and an immersive bougainvillea garden experience
Kuala Lumpur, 3 March 2026 – Suria KLCC, Malaysia’s iconic experiential shopping destination,
invites shoppers to honour the nation’s rich cultural tapestry this Hari Raya Aidilfitri. From 27
February to 5 April 2026, the Suria KLCC Group will host a meaningful campaign dedicated to the
promotion of tradition, heritage, and the spirit of togetherness.
This celebration extends across the entire KLCC Precinct, where the festive mood is brought to
life through a holistic journey of discovery. Beyond the curated mall experiences, visitors can
enjoy a seamless blend of heritage and modern leisure, from seasonal offerings and retail
experiences within the mall to moments of reflection at the KLCC Park—creating a vibrant
destination where lifestyle, dining, and culture meet at KLCC The Place.

An Immersive Heritage Experience at Suria KLCC
The Centre Court and Esplanade KLCC have been transformed into a picturesque bougainvillea
garden, centred by traditional Malay wakaf structures that serve as the focal point of Suria
KLCC’s festive vision. In a synergistic collaboration with Sofia Iman, Suria KLCC brings the
richness of Malaysian artistry to the forefront as a core pillar of the experience
Adorning our festive space is a masterclass in artistry: 1,710 metres of hand-stamped batik,
crafted by Sofia Iman specifically for this setup. This monumental fabric installation spans from the traditional wakaf pavilions and grand hanging hoists to the majestic edifices at the Esplanade KLCC—weaving the soul of tradition into every corner of the celebration.
One pondok wakaf serves as a dedicated craft space, hosting a special Songket Weaving
Demonstration. Visitors can witness the intricate process firsthand, brought to life by a skilled
master weaver from Terengganu—a heritage artisan specially brought to the city by Sofia Iman.
This showcase features the rhythmic movements of the traditional loom, or ‘Kek’, offering a rare
glimpse into the human dedication required to create these woven masterpieces.

A Curated Heritage Journey by Sofia Iman
The celebration at Suria KLCC is designed as a shared journey into Malaysian culture, where the
traditions of the past become part of the present. In a significant contribution to this year’s
campaign, Sofia Iman has exclusively curated a series of heritage touchpoints to connect
visitors with the nation’s soul.
- Visitors can rediscover the simple joy of heritage through daily traditional games,
including Congkak and Batu Seremban. - The festive spirit is further heightened by the energy of live Gamelan performances.
These curated experiences sit alongside other festive highlights, including a curated photo
backdrop for family memories, live Zapin dances, and interactive workshops such as Batik
Painting, Raya Flower Arrangement, and a Fragrance Pairing session by The Body Shop.
A Tribute to Tradition: “Penjaga Warisan”
At the heart of this year’s celebration is the festive brand film, “Penjaga Warisan” (The Guardian
of Heritage), produced in collaboration with Sofia Iman. Filmed through a documentarian lens, it
captures the delicate tension between the city’s rapid pace and the quiet traditions of
Terengganu, following the thread between generations.

Like the traditions it celebrates, every element of this film was made entirely by human hands—
from the music composed from scratch to the poem written from the heart—serving as a quiet act
of resistance against a fast-paced, digital world
Francis Tan, Executive Director and CEO of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, said: “This Hari Raya, through
our significant collaboration with Sofia Iman and the narrative of ‘Penjaga Warisan’, we are not
merely showcasing heritage—we are safeguarding it. And as the nation celebrates Visit Malaysia
2026, we are proud to play our part in showcasing Malaysia’s cultural soul to a global audience,
positioning the KLCC Precinct as a premier touchpoint for international visitors to experience the
authenticity of our heritage”.
Puan Faralina Binti Abdul Wahab, Founder of Sofia Iman, shared: “What we are showcasing
today is the culmination of years of dedication, creativity, and staying true to our cultural roots.
Sofia Iman’s presence at Suria KLCC has shown us that customers desire modern interpretations of
songket and batik that they can incorporate into their daily lives. This is an opportunity to present
our story, honour our artisans, and share Malaysian craftsmanship with a broader audience”.
