KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA February 19, 2026 – Surau Al-Barakah at Menara Kembar Bank Rakyat has launched the Tabung Infak Umrah, aiming to raise RM600,000 to sponsor 100 individuals from the asnaf and low-income (B40) groups to perform umrah in the Holy Land.
The initiative is fully supported by Bank Rakyat as the primary partner and ikhlas.com, the official partner of AirAsia, which is also promoting the campaign to help meet the fundraising target.
Donations will begin on 1 Ramadan 1447H, corresponding to 19 February 2026, via a dedicated QR code for the Tabung Infak Umrah, enabling the public to contribute transparently and efficiently. All funds raised will be used entirely to cover the umrah package costs for the 100 selected beneficiaries.
Eligible individuals may apply by completing forms available on the official website or at any Bank Rakyat branch. Applicants are required to submit an inspirational umrah story as part of the evaluation process. Applications can be made on behalf of oneself or to nominate another qualified individual. All submissions will be assessed by a specially appointed committee.
Beyond fulfilling the dreams of the less fortunate, the initiative seeks to promote a culture of infak (charitable giving), ongoing sadaqah jariah (continuous charity), and community welfare.
The public is invited to contribute towards achieving the fundraising goal, creating opportunities for ongoing rewards while bringing new hope to those less fortunate to set foot in the Holy Land.
