PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, July 22, 2025 — Starting next year, the admission process for Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) and Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) will be streamlined into a single application system, allowing each applicant to receive only one placement offer, announced Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The initiative aims to eliminate overlapping offers and ensure optimal use of learning spaces by deserving students, particularly those from B40 families in rural and urban poor communities. “This reflects true social justice in education,” Ahmad Zahid emphasized.
To ensure a smooth implementation, Ahmad Zahid chaired a coordination meeting between MARA and the Ministry of Education (KPM) to discuss the 2026 admission process. Student selection will continue to be based on the Special School Admission Assessment (PKSK), with applications managed online, including through the MyMRSM platform for private school students.
The move is a result of close collaboration between MARA and KPM. “With strong commitment and transparent execution, we are reshaping the nation’s boarding school ecosystem to be more sustainable and inclusive for future generations,” Ahmad Zahid said.
