Saifuddin Begins Two-Day Official Visit to Hanoi, Discusses Agricultural Prospects and Bilateral Ties

HANOI, Aug 16  2025  – Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail began a two-day official visit to Hanoi, Vietnam, today, engaging in a productive lunch meeting with Malaysia’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Dato’ Tan Yang Thai.

During the meeting, the duo discussed matters of national importance, including developments in the agricultural sector, particularly rice cultivation, and the growing potential of Malaysian durians in the Vietnamese market.

Dato’ Tan shared insights on the current situation in Vietnam, highlighting opportunities for Malaysian citizens and companies, as well as challenges that require attention.

Saifuddin emphasized the significance of such engagements, noting that the lunch was more than a casual meeting but a vital platform to gain a deeper understanding of Malaysia-Vietnam relations directly from the ambassador entrusted with representing Malaysia in Vietnam.
