PENAMPANG, SABAH. Malaysia, Sept 21, 2025 – Public land transport and goods transport companies in Sabah and Sarawak are urged to register immediately through the Subsidized Petrol Control System (SKPS) to benefit from RON95 petrol subsidies, ahead of the targeted subsidy implementation to be announced by the Ministry of Finance.

Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, stated that registration can be done at http://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my, with complete applications approved instantly. Upon receiving approval notification, companies can apply for a fleet card from selected oil companies.
The SKPS registration opened on 15 September 2025, following its announcement on 13 September, and has been integrated with data from the Road Transport Department (JPJ). However, within six days from 15 to 20 September, only 89 out of an estimated 2,677 eligible vehicles in Sabah were registered, while only six out of 1,970 eligible vehicles in Sarawak were enrolled.
“Registration remains very low and must be increased immediately to ensure companies receive subsidies before the targeted implementation, including the SKPS subsidy rate,” he said in a media statement today.
He added that the RON95 petrol subsidy targeting will also be implemented for personal vehicles of Malaysian citizens in Sabah and Sarawak, enabling them to enjoy a retail price of RM1.99 per liter, as announced by Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Full details of the targeting mechanism will be announced by the Ministry of Finance soon.
