MALACCA, MALAYSIA March 11, 2026 – The Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has recorded a major success in its fight against drug activities by successfully uncovering a processing and storage laboratory for synthetic drug MDMA (ecstasy) in the state. The total value of the seized drugs is estimated at RM86.78 million, believed to be intended for the domestic market.
The Director of JSJN, CP Dato’ Hussein Omar Khan, announced the achievement during a press conference at Dewan Parameswara, Melaka Contingent Police Headquarters, this morning. The operation was launched based on precise intelligence information, in collaboration with the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK).
Three separate raid series were conducted around Melaka from 6 to 8 March 2026, resulting in the arrest of five suspects – four local men and one local woman aged between 23 and 55 years old.
– First raid at a terrace house in Taman Puncak Bertam: Three suspects were detained, along with the seizure of 12 packages of suspected Erimin 5 weighing 1.73 kg, 13 mobile phones, seven notebooks, and one laptop.
– Second raid in Taman Kenanga: Two suspects were arrested, with seizures including liquid and powder suspected to be MDMA, ecstasy pills, Erimin 5 pills, and ketamine.
– Third raid at a two-storey terrace house in Taman Satu Krubong: A drug processing laboratory was discovered, along with large quantities of liquid and powder MDMA, ecstasy pills, Erimin 5 pills, ketamine, and various drug processing equipment.
The total seizures are as follows:
– Suspected MDMA liquid: 284.96 kg
– Suspected MDMA powder: 306.60 kg
– Ecstasy pills: 0.17 kg
– Erimin 5 pills: 1.88 kg
– Ketamine: 1.01 kg
The seized drugs are estimated to be worth RM86.78 million in the illegal market. If not intercepted, this quantity could have supplied the local market in very large amounts, posing a serious threat to society.
Also present at the press conference were the Melaka Chief of Police, DCP Dato’ Dzulkhairi Mukhtar; Deputy Director of Narcotics (Intelligence/Operations), DCP Datuk Mat Zani @ Mohd Salahuddin bin Che Ali; as well as senior JSJN officers from Bukit Aman and the Melaka contingent.
JSJN emphasized that this MDMA distribution syndicate was successfully dismantled through close cooperation between enforcement agencies. The authorities urge the public to continue providing information regarding drug-related activities to ensure ongoing efforts to eradicate drug syndicates.
