KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, Oct 26, 2025 – Public transport operator Rapid KL has announced the temporary closure of several high-traffic stations across its LRT network this morning, citing safety protocols as the primary reason. The disruptions, affecting lines serving the bustling city center, are set to last from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, urging commuters to plan alternative travel options during peak hours.
The affected stations include:
– Kelana Jaya Line : Ampang Park and KLCC
– Putrajaya Line : Conlay, Persiaran KLCC, and Ampang Park
– Kajang Line : Bukit Bintang
All other stations on the network will continue to operate on their regular schedules, ensuring minimal broader impact to the system. Rapid KL emphasized that the closures are precautionary measures to address unspecified safety factors, with operations resuming fully by midday.
Commuters are advised to reroute via alternative MRT or bus services, or utilize ride-hailing apps to avoid delays in the KLCC and Bukit Bintang areas, known hotspots for shoppers and office workers. For on-site support, passengers can seek assistance from station officers or auxiliary police personnel stationed throughout the network.
” Kami memohon maaf atas kesulitan yang dialami dan amat menghargai kesabaran anda,” Rapid KL stated in an official release (We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience). The operator encouraged followers to monitor its official social media channels and website for real-time updates on service restoration.
This incident comes amid ongoing efforts by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, Rapid KL’s parent company, to enhance system reliability following recent upgrades to the aging LRT infrastructure. No injuries or major incidents were reported in connection with today’s closures.
