PADANG BESAR, PERLIS, Malaysia Aug 16, 2025 – The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, today officiated the launch of the flagship program “Perlis Connect,” drawing nearly 2,000 attendees at Padang Besar Street.
The initiative aims to expand digital awareness, empower users, and bolster local innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems through various interactive activities. It serves as a strategic platform to expose the community to advancements in technology and communications.

Highlights of “Perlis Connect” include sessions on international roaming services, the Safe Internet Campaign (KIS) for cybersecurity awareness, demonstrations of the MCMC NEXUS app, and exhibitions and sales of local products by entrepreneurs from the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI).
A Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) complaint counter was also opened to facilitate public reports, advisory services, and access to information on communication services, bringing these resources closer to the people.
The Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) contributed its editorial expertise by leveraging its media platforms to amplify success stories of local entrepreneurs. This included live interviews, news coverage, and broadcasts from BERNAMA’s mobile studio at the event venue.
Among those in attendance were Communications Ministry Chief Secretary Dato’ Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa; MCMC Commissioner General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin; and BERNAMA Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin.
The program was jointly organized by BERNAMA and MCMC.
