KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Sept 9, 2025 – Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Rafizi Ramli have jointly announced the resolution of a civil suit filed by Tuan Ibrahim against Rafizi in the Kuala Lumpur High Court on November 17, 2022, under case number WA-23CY-54-11/2022.
The lawsuit stemmed from media statements by Rafizi, which raised questions about the role and functions of a minister during the caretaker government period following the dissolution of Parliament for the 15th General Election. Specifically, Rafizi highlighted concerns regarding the alleged awarding of a RM2 billion Sungai Langat 2 flood mitigation project to Mangkubumi Sdn Bhd by the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) while Tuan Ibrahim was minister.
Rafizi’s statements were based on information and documents obtained from credible sources. To avoid prolonging the matter, prevent public misinterpretation, or cause misunderstanding toward Tuan Ibrahim, Rafizi has agreed to remove all related social media posts under his control. As the focus of Rafizi’s statements was not specifically Tuan Ibrahim’s involvement in the project, the issue of his role in the matter is no longer in dispute, and Tuan Ibrahim has agreed to withdraw the civil suit.
In the spirit of amicable resolution, both parties concur that any disputes or misunderstandings arising from this lawsuit should be set aside for the sake of public interest, societal harmony, and political stability in the country.
The matter has been resolved out of court, both parties confirmed.
