KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Sept 17, 2025 – The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have dismantled a major drug syndicate processing and distributing Methylene-dioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as ecstasy, in a coordinated operation dubbed Operasi Pine (Op Pine) on September 10 in the Klang Valley.

The Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) of Bukit Aman arrested four local men, aged 34 to 51, who were involved in roles ranging from coordinator and chemist to assistant and transporter.
Seizures Include:
-MDMA (Ecstasy): 3,586.45 kg (3,561.15 kg liquid, 25.3 kg powder/solid), valued at RM598.9 million.
– Chemicals for MDMA processing: 2,413.45 kg (2,147.35 kg liquid, 266.1 kg powder).
– Illegal lab equipment: Various drums, glass bottles, plastic containers, and drug-processing tools.
– Syndicate assets (RM336,224): Five vehicles (Toyota Vellfire, Toyota Unser, Toyota Caldina, Proton X70, Mazda 6), one Toyota forklift, RM2,000 cash, a gold ring, and a gold coin.
The operation prevented over 12 million potential users from accessing the drugs, which could have flooded the market if not intercepted.
All suspects are under a 14-day remand for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a mandatory death penalty or life imprisonment with caning upon conviction.
From January to September 14, 2025, JSJN recorded 189,788 arrests, with total drug seizures valued at RM1.96 billion.
PDRM, particularly JSJN, urged the public to report drug syndicate activities via the hotline +6012-208 7222, emphasizing that public cooperation is vital to combat the nation’s number one enemy—drugs.
