MALAYSIA. LUMUT, June 15, 2025 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim made his inaugural visit to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Base in Lumut today, greeted by the brisk winds of the Melaka Strait and the resolute spirit of Malaysia’s defence forces.
In a heartfelt engagement with RMN personnel, Anwar expressed profound gratitude for their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s maritime borders.

“Their dedication to defending our beloved homeland is truly humbling,” he said, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to elevating the RMN as a premier maritime force.
During the visit, Anwar received updates on ongoing development projects at the base, most of which have been completed. For projects still in progress, he urged swift action to ensure the welfare of RMN personnel.
To bolster the base’s long-term capabilities and personnel welfare, the Prime Minister approved several key initiatives, including:
Upgrading the 33kV high-voltage distribution system.
Replacing operational tanks at the Bulk Fuel Installation (BFI).
Enhancing the Lumut Base operational jetty.
Constructing a new specialist clinic and upgrading the Lumut Armed Forces Hospital.
“Today’s meeting with the RMN family strengthens my resolve to ensure they receive the facilities and comfort they deserve,” Anwar said.
He concluded by thanking the RMN Lumut personnel, stating, “This nation stands tall because of your sweat and sacrifices.”
