HULU LANGAT, Malaysia, Aug 20, 2025 – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today officiated the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant, a mega-project hailed as a testament to Malaysia’s capability to master cutting-edge technology in meeting the nation’s strategic needs. The ceremony, held this afternoon, marked a significant milestone in ensuring a sustainable, high-quality, and clean water supply for the people.
Describing the plant as a symbol of Malaysia’s ambition to elevate its economic potential and enhance public welfare, Anwar emphasized the importance of efficient management, a skilled professional workforce, and strong collaboration to secure essential national resources like water. “The development of this plant reflects our commitment to raising the economic ceiling and uplifting the floor of public well-being,” he said.
Anwar underscored that water and energy are the lifeblood of development, stating, “Without these, it would be impossible for Malaysia to position itself as a prime destination for investment, a technology hub, or a regional data center.” He highlighted the close cooperation between the federal government, state authorities, and local companies, which has enabled the realization of this multi-billion-ringgit project through local expertise.
