PUTRAJAYA. MALAYSIA February 19, 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today joined officers and staff of the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) for a special Madrasah Ruhiyah — a spiritual and reflective session — to mark the first day of Ramadan.
In his address, the Prime Minister urged all participants to engage in self-reflection (muhasabah), personal improvement, and the strengthening of core values, discipline, and integrity while carrying out their duties to the people and the nation.
“I express my highest appreciation for the service and sacrifices of all KDN personnel and agencies under its purview, who work tirelessly every day to ensure the security and peace of our country remain intact,” Anwar said.
He highlighted recent achievements by the ministry and its agencies, including successful efforts to curb financial leakages, reinforce border controls, and eradicate crime and smuggling activities that have saved the nation substantial revenue.
“These accomplishments are clear proof of the dedication of our security apparatus in defending national sovereignty, upholding the law, and safeguarding the well-being of the rakyat,” he added.
Anwar stressed that Ramadan serves as a powerful reminder for greater care, honesty, and integrity in fulfilling public trust. “We must not become complacent or comfortable with our existing achievements. Instead, we must continue striving to address every weakness,” he said.
He encouraged staff to accept constructive criticism with an open heart and to carry out improvements in a prudent, systematic, and sustained manner.
“I am confident that with the spirit of reform (islah) and discipline that Ramadan instils, KDN personnel will further enhance their performance, strengthen integrity, and discharge their responsibilities with full accountability, ensuring Malaysia remains safe, stable, and respected,” Anwar concluded.
The event included Anwar addressing a large audience in a full auditorium, personally greeting officers, and participating in a working session in a state-of-the-art command centre.
The Prime Minister’s message was shared via his official X account, accompanied by photographs from the gathering.
