Anwar also acknowledged Malaysia’s remarkable journey in establishing itself as a global leader in the halal industry, a path he described as challenging yet rewarding. He paid tribute to the late Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for his visionary leadership in spearheading Malaysia’s halal initiatives, crediting the collective commitment of various stakeholders for building a robust and globally trusted halal ecosystem.
