PDRM Investigates Viral Video of Police Officer’s Misconduct in Ampang Jaya

MALATSIA. KUALA LUMPUR, June 15, 2025 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has launched an investigation into a 2-minute, 17-second viral video circulating on social media, depicting a low-ranking police officer engaging in inappropriate conversation with a woman, including suggestions to meet at a house or check into a hotel. The incident is believed to have occurred in Ampang Jaya, Selangor.

According to a statement from the PDRM’s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department, the Pandan Indah Police Station chief under the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters filed a police report on June 14, 2025.

The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities.

Concurrently, the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department at Bukit Aman is conducting a disciplinary investigation into the officer, including scrutiny of supervisory oversight.

Director of the department, CP Dato’ Sri Azri Bin Ahmad, emphasized that stern action will be taken against the officer and any supervisory personnel if the allegations are substantiated.

“PDRM will not hesitate to enforce strict measures to uphold integrity,” Azri said in the statement issued at 6:45 p.m. today.
