KAJANG, SELANGOR, MALAYSIA January 13, 2026 – The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) today issued an official media statement denying any acceptance of applications, approvals, or permissions related to the organisation of activities involving LGBT elements or any activities that contradict societal norms, customs, religion, and existing laws within the MPKj administrative area.
In the statement issued today, MPKj emphasised that it does not support and will not compromise on any form of organisation of immoral activities that contradict societal values and have the potential to disrupt community harmony.
MPKj also stressed that the organisation of any programmes or awareness activities within its administrative area is subject to approval by the relevant authorities, and strict action will be taken against any party that violates the established regulations, laws, and guidelines.
The public is advised not to spread inaccurate information and to channel any information regarding suspicious activities to the authorities to ensure public order, safety, and community harmony continue to be preserved.
The statement was issued by the Corporate and Community Development Department of MPKj and has been uploaded to the council’s official social media pages.
This statement is seen as closely linked to the recent controversy surrounding the Glamping With Pride programme, which was advertised to be held in Hulu Langat and has drawn strong objections for being perceived as promoting the LGBT lifestyle. Several police reports have been lodged regarding the programme, while the Sultan of Selangor has ordered strict action against similar activities.
The Selangor State Government has also urged the cancellation of the programme, while the Member of Parliament for Hulu Langat has lodged a police report and an official complaint with MPKj.
MPKj can be contacted via telephone at 03-87377899 or 1-800-88-6755, email at aduan@mpkj.gov.my, or the website www.mpkj.gov.my for any inquiries or complaints.
