LOS ANGELES April 9, 2026 – Veteran actor Noah Wyle, star of the hit medical drama The Pitt and longtime fan favorite from ER, received the 2,840th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday in a heartfelt ceremony.
The event took place at 11:30 a.m. PT in front of 6164 Hollywood Boulevard in the Television category. Variety captured the emotional moment as Wyle knelt on the red carpet while the black cover was dramatically pulled away from his new star. The actor bowed low, touching the terrazzo star with both hands before rising to accept the official plaque.
Wyle, visibly moved, described the honor as a “childhood dream come true” and the crowning achievement of his career. Born in Hollywood, he noted the boulevard’s personal significance — it was where he first met his wife, Sara. Family members, including his wife and children, attended the ceremony alongside friends and colleagues.
The star unveiling was emceed by Derek Hough, with Star Trek: The Next Generation alum Jonathan Frakes among those who spoke in tribute.
Wyle first rose to fame in the 1990s as Dr. John Carter on NBC’s ER, a role he played for more than a decade. He has since built an impressive resume in television and film, including portraying Steve Jobs in Pirates of Silicon Valley.
His latest project, Max’s The Pitt, has earned widespread acclaim. Wyle stars as senior emergency physician Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch and also serves as a writer, director, and executive producer. The gritty hospital drama follows a single 15-hour shift in a Pittsburgh emergency room and has quickly become one of television’s most talked-about new series.
Fans and industry peers flooded social media with congratulations following the ceremony. Many noted Wyle’s long journey from ER to The Pitt, calling the star a well-deserved milestone.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame continues to celebrate artists who have made lasting contributions to entertainment. Wyle’s star now joins thousands of others lining Hollywood Boulevard, marking another chapter in a remarkable career that spans more than three decades.
