KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA February 18, 2026 – Segambut Member of Parliament Hannah Yeoh has completed the distribution of Ramadan contributions totaling RM136,000 to 10 mosques and 43 surau (smaller prayer halls) in the Segambut parliamentary constituency ahead of the start of Ramadan this year.
The contributions were distributed at the rate of RM5,000 per mosque and RM2,000 per surau, accompanied by dates as an additional item. The handover ceremony was held at Masjid Al-Firdaus, which served as the host venue, marking Hannah Yeoh’s annual tradition as an elected representative to support religious and community institutions.
According to Hannah Yeoh, who also serves as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), this initiative is part of her ongoing efforts to strengthen the role of community institutions in ensuring the continued well-being of the local population, especially during the month of Ramadan.
“I believe the strength of Malaysia as a multi-ethnic nation depends on our ability to mutually respect and support the role of community institutions, including religious institutions, in society,” she said.
She emphasized that throughout her service as a Member of Parliament, she has placed strong emphasis on cooperation with community leaders and the strengthening of local welfare networks to ensure no community is left behind.
Hannah also expressed her appreciation to the mosque and surau committees, volunteers, and community leaders for their continued commitment to serving the people. She hopes the contributions will be fully utilised to support the needs of the Muslim community throughout the fasting month.
This annual tradition of Ramadan contributions reflects Hannah Yeoh’s ongoing commitment to fostering unity and harmony in the diverse community of the Segambut parliamentary area.
