MITI Hands Over MADANI Adopted Village and School Projects in Semenyih, Enhancing Community Basic Facilities

SEMENYIH, SELANGOR. MALAYSIA December 5, 2025 – The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) today handed over two major projects under the MADANI Adopted Village and MADANI Adopted School 2025 initiatives, aimed at improving basic facilities and balanced development in rural areas. The handover ceremony was held at the Kampung Batu 3 Kariah Mosque for the village road repair and mosque beautification project, followed by a similar ceremony at Sekolah Kebangsaan Rinching Hilir for the school facility upgrade project.

This initiative, announced by the Prime Minister in Budget 2024, emphasizes holistic development between urban and rural areas. MITI allocated RM1 million for the MADANI Adopted Village in Kampung Batu 3, with RM600,000 specifically for village road repairs. This project was completed two months ahead of schedule, led by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) as MITI’s strategic partner.

In addition, MITI carried out the beautification of the Kampung Batu 3 Kariah Mosque, including upgrades to the prayer space and repairs to damages. Environmental sustainability efforts were prioritized through the planting of over 300 bamboo seedlings and 2,000 vetiver grass seedlings along the Semenyih River. Today’s ceremony was attended by representatives from KKDW, the Semenyih Mukim Chief, the Kampung Batu 3 Village Head, the Mosque Nazir, and local residents.

To strengthen community ties, MITI organized a Malaysia Day celebration in September, involving a parade of residents and MITI staff. A gotong-royong (community clean-up) program was also held in May, fostering a spirit of cooperation.

Dato’ Hairil Yahri Yaacob, MITI Secretary-General, stated: “This program demonstrates the MADANI Government’s commitment to empowering a balanced development agenda through synergies among various ministries, in line with the Prime Minister’s aspirations that emphasize the values of Compassion and Prosperity as core pillars of Malaysia MADANI.”

For the MADANI Adopted School, MITI allocated RM100,000 to upgrade facilities at Sekolah Kebangsaan Rinching Hilir. Of that amount, RM30,000 was used to enhance high-speed 5G internet access throughout the school premises, aimed at sparking students’ interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through interactive means and improving internet access for learning purposes.

Other projects include replacing damaged canteen chairs, constructing an OKU-friendly concrete courtyard, painting school pride murals, and installing smart boards and CCTV in all classrooms. The school handover ceremony was attended by the Headmaster, teachers, students, as well as representatives from the State and District Education Offices and the Parent-Teacher Association.

The implementation of these projects adopted a ‘whole of government’ approach, involving collaboration with KKDW, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS), the Selangor Water Management Board (LUAS), private companies, non-governmental organizations, and residents. It not only enhances infrastructure but also provides added social, economic, and environmental sustainability value for the long-term benefit of the Kampung Batu 3 community, Sekolah Kebangsaan Rinching Hilir staff and students, and surrounding residents.

MITI, as the primary driver of quality investments and competitive trade, remains committed to ensuring rapid economic development in line with the nation’s goal of becoming a developed country.
