CYBERJAYA, MALAYSIA February 4, 2026 – Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has launched the third cohort of its prestigious Accelerated Leadership Programme Series (ALPs), an award-winning initiative aimed at building future-ready leaders equipped to navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving digital and AI-driven landscape.
Announced on February 4, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur, the programme has selected 40 high-potential (HiPo) officers through MCMC’s rigorous leadership and talent development framework. As a core element of the Commission’s Leadership Continuum, ALPs focuses on preparing emerging leaders to take on expanded roles amid accelerating technological advancements, particularly in digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
The programme is built around three key objectives:
– Developing future-ready talents to ensure strong leadership bench strength within MCMC;
– Building essential capabilities to guide organisational transformation in the digital and AI era;
– Fostering a high-performance culture while enabling structured career progression.
Participants will benefit from an MBA-level academic partnership with the Faculty of Business and Economics at **
Universiti Malaya, blending rigorous academic coursework with practical leadership training. This includes MBA-level modules and a capstone project.
In a significant enhancement, the cohort will also pursue a professional-level Artificial Intelligence certification from the United States Artificial Intelligence Institute (USAI®), a globally recognised institution. This component strengthens practical digital and AI skills directly relevant to MCMC’s regulatory and developmental responsibilities in the communications and multimedia sector.
The comprehensive learning journey incorporates:
– Leadership masterclasses and executive coaching sessions;
– Experiential learning opportunities;
– Strong focus on innovation, with participants tasked to design and implement innovation initiatives;
– Representation of MCMC in an international competition for exposure to global best practices, emerging trends, and cross-border insights.
This initiative highlights MCMC’s strategic, long-term dedication to systematic leadership development, talent progression, and organisational agility—ensuring the Commission stays effective in tackling future regulatory, industry, and technological demands.
