PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA January 13, 2026 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to the Palestinian cause during a meeting with humanitarian activists at Perdana Putra on Monday afternoon.
In a statement posted on his official X account, Anwar said he received Dato’ Sani Araby Al-Sagoff, Director-General of the Sumud Nusantara Command Center (SNCC) and head of humanitarian activism at the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisations (MAPIM), along with Nadir Al-Nuri, founder of Sumud Nusantara.
The delegation briefed the Prime Minister on the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, highlighting prolonged aid blockades, ongoing conflict uncertainty, and the continued suffering of Palestinians amid what they described as severe oppression.
They also shared the successes of the previous Sumud Nusantara Mission, which helped break international silence on the issue and amplified Gaza’s voice on the global stage.
Discussions focused on future humanitarian initiatives, including Malaysia’s key role in the upcoming Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0, a mission expected to involve participants from more than 80 countries.
Anwar announced that the MADANI government will participate directly in the flotilla, describing it as a continuation of Malaysia’s moral stand on international justice and human rights, transcending borders, race, or religion.
“Insha-Allah, we will mobilise all possible efforts to assist and champion the rights of the Palestinian people. This justice can no longer be delayed for a dignified and independent Palestine,” he stated.
The meeting underscores Malaysia’s ongoing solidarity with Palestine amid the protracted conflict in Gaza.
