Malaysia Soars to 23rd in 2025 World Competitiveness Ranking, Up 11 Spots

MALAYSIA, KUALA LUMPUR, June 17, 2025 – Malaysia has achieved a remarkable leap in the 2025 World Competitiveness Ranking, climbing 11 places to secure the 23rd position, marking its best performance in five years, announced Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The surge reflects the success of the MADANI Government’s reform initiatives, driven by strong political will, dedicated public sector efforts, and robust collaboration with the private sector.

Key factors contributing to this milestone include Malaysia’s stellar performance in trade, administrative efficiency, and a thriving investment environment, laying a solid foundation for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

“This achievement belongs to all Malaysians,” said Anwar. “It is a critical step in our journey to position Malaysia among the world’s most competitive economies by 2033, ensuring a brighter future for our children.”
