Malaysia Offers 50% Discount on Traffic Summonses in National Campaign for Independence Celebrations

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, Aug 30 – In conjunction with the 68th National Day and 62nd Malaysia Day, the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) has partnered with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and MyDigital ID to launch a nationwide summons discount campaign, offering a 50% reduction on PDRM traffic summonses.

The initiative, aimed at providing direct benefits to Malaysians while promoting digital services, will run from August 31 to September 16, 2025. Payments must be made exclusively through the MyBayar PDRM app, with login via MyDigital ID to ensure eligibility for Malaysian citizens only.

Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail described the offer as a gesture of appreciation from the government. “In celebrating National Day and Malaysia Day, the government is not only commemorating the nation’s achievements but also delivering tangible benefits to the people,” he said. “This summons reduction symbolises the government’s gratitude to Malaysians, while encouraging the use of the national digital identity as a foundation for transforming public services. I urge all Malaysians to seize this golden opportunity and support the government’s efforts toward more efficient, transparent, and modern services.”

The campaign forms part of broader efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s digital infrastructure, making it easier, faster, and safer for citizens to settle outstanding traffic fines. MyDigital ID serves as a secure digital verification method, reducing risks of identity fraud and personal data misuse.

Through this program, KDN and PDRM reaffirmed their commitment to prioritising public welfare and advancing the country’s digitalisation agenda, aligning with the spirit of independence and national progress.
