PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA January 6, 2026 – The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) announced today that MyDigital ID will become the sole login platform for Malaysian citizens accessing the mobile MyNIISe application, effective 15 January 2026.
The change applies only to Malaysian citizens using the app. Foreign users will continue to log in to MyNIISe using existing methods without any alterations.
According to the official media statement, the move is part of the ongoing implementation of the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe). It aims to provide more accurate and secure user verification by cross-referencing data with the National Registration Department (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, JPN) without storing users’ personal data. The single-login system is intended to enhance digital transaction security and simplify the user experience by eliminating the need to remember multiple passwords.
Malaysians aged 18 and above are strongly encouraged to register for MyDigital ID in advance. The MyDigital ID app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
MyNIISe, which facilitates digital immigration processes, has been in use since 22 September 2025 at selected entry points including Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) and Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (KSAB) in Johor Bahru, Johor, with phased expansion to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminals 1 and 2, Bayan Lepas, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu planned in stages. As of 30 December 2025, the system recorded 599,967 entries and 287,258 registered users.
The ministry described the initiative as reflecting the MADANI government’s continuous commitment to modernising public services through safe, efficient, and people-centric digital solutions, thereby building greater public trust and convenience in immigration matters.
