Malaysia Bolsters Security for Palestinian Residents Amid Heightened Concerns

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, July 24, 2025 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has intensified security measures for foreign nationals, particularly Palestinians residing in Malaysia, urging them to adopt a low-profile lifestyle to avoid becoming targets of potential threats. Authorities have advised Palestinians to report any suspicious activities to the police immediately.

In a statement, PDRM emphasized its commitment to national safety, collaborating closely with the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), and Interpol. The force is prioritizing the security of long-term foreign residents, including those in Malaysia for work, such as foreign consultants.

PDRM has also strengthened strategic partnerships with government agencies, facilitating continuous information sharing and coordinated efforts at national and international levels to ensure Malaysia’s safety and the well-being of its citizens and residents.

Inspector-General of Police Dato’ Sri Hj. Mohd Khalid Bin Hj. Ismail reaffirmed PDRM’s dedication to maintaining a secure environment, stating, “We remain fully committed to safeguarding Malaysia and ensuring the peace and prosperity of its people.”

The heightened measures come as part of ongoing efforts to address potential security risks in the country, with authorities urging vigilance among all residents.
