From January to April 2025, trade surpassed US$36 billion. Both leaders explored ways to address the trade deficit and expand cooperation in port logistics, liquefied natural gas (LNG), water management, digital economy, and green technology.

On regional matters, Anwar expressed gratitude for China’s support of ASEAN’s Five-Point Consensus on Myanmar. He also underscored the need for peaceful resolutions in the South China Sea, emphasizing adherence to international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

The discussions reflect Malaysia and China’s commitment to deepening ties and addressing shared challenges through dialogue and collaboration.
