KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia. Aug 12, 2025 — Malaysia’s ambition in artificial intelligence (AI) is not merely to keep pace with global advancements but to lead with a model of innovation rooted in trust, justice, and Southeast Asian values, said Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Speaking at the launch of the ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit 2025 today, Anwar emphasized that the success of AI should not be measured by technological sophistication alone but by its ability to uplift lives, create opportunities, overcome challenges, and ensure inclusivity.
“This is how we build a future where technology truly serves humanity in a sustainable, inclusive, and just manner,” he stated.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that the recently launched 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) underscores digital transformation as a key driver of sustainable and inclusive growth, aligning with Malaysia’s aspiration to become a regional technology leader.
Anwar called for unity, commitment, and unwavering resolve to propel Malaysia forward in the AI era, ensuring prosperity for its people and upholding national dignity.
