PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA March 17, 2026 – The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) has approved RM35 million in financing applications under the Skim Biaya Ramadan Perniagaan Rakyat (BARAKAT) as of yesterday (March 16).
Since its launch by Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong on February 5, the scheme has attracted strong interest, receiving 6,044 applications worth RM52 million nationwide. Of these, 5,590 applications have been approved.
The BARAKAT initiative is designed as a quick capital booster for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PMKS), with a special focus on micro-enterprises. It helps them cover operational costs and meet the surge in demand during the Ramadan festive season.
Minister Steven Sim stressed that the scheme reflects the government’s determination to cut red tape and speed up access to capital for entrepreneurs.
“This is in line with KUSKOP’s A.B.C.D Strategy – Anjakan Produktiviti, Birokrasi Dipermudah, Capaian Modal, and Daya Akses kepada Pasaran,” he said.
KUSKOP pledged to continue refining its financing delivery mechanisms so that more entrepreneurs can benefit and the country’s economic resilience is strengthened.
“Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia!” the ministry added.
