PENAMPANG, SABAH, Malaysia, Sept 19, 2025– Seven agencies under the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP) have distributed close to RM200,000 in corporate social responsibility (CSR) aid to support victims of recent floods and landslides in Sabah.
The contributions, which include food baskets, medicines, and essential daily items such as disposable diapers, are being handed out to affected families in Penampang, Kadamaian, and Papar, according to Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick.

“Part of the aid has already been distributed, with the remainder to be delivered today and in phases until all contributions reach the 1,907 recipients,” Ewon said during an event here on Friday.
The initiative involves key agencies including TEKUN Nasional, Bank Rakyat, the Malaysia Cooperative Commission (SKM), the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN), the Malaysia Cooperative Institute (IKMa), SME Bank, and the National Corporation Berhad (PERNAS).
Ewon emphasized that the effort reflects the agencies’ commitment to easing the burden on communities impacted by the disasters.
“I appreciate the initiative and concern shown by all KUSKOP agencies in carrying out this social responsibility program in Sabah,” he added.
Breaking down the contributions:
– TEKUN Nasional provided RM50,000 in aid to 500 families in Penampang and Papar, including support for affected TEKUN entrepreneurs.
– SKM distributed 400 food baskets in Penampang and 160 in Kadamaian, totaling RM56,000.
– Bank Rakyat supplied 400 food baskets worth RM40,000, distributed in Penampang on Friday.
– SME Bank contributed 200 food baskets valued at RM20,000 in Penampang.
– INSKEN allocated RM10,000 to assist 127 flood-affected families in Penampang.
– IKMa delivered 170 food baskets worth RM17,000 in Penampang and Kadamaian.
– PERNAS is set to provide 100 food baskets valued at RM10,000 to impacted victims.
The aid comes in the wake of recent natural disasters that have displaced families and damaged homes across the state. Officials say the phased distribution ensures efficient delivery to those in need.
