Themed “Semarak Konsumerisme,” the event showcased vibrant consumer-focused activities while serving as a platform to gather input for the National Consumer Policy 2.0 (DPN 2.0).

CONFEST 2025 featured engaging competitions like Battle of the Buskers, Musical Sketches, Rhythmic Talks, and Smart Trolley Exploration, with participants from primary, secondary, and university levels selected through state and zonal preliminaries. Government agency booths and KPDN’s strategic partners offered visitors valuable information and services.

The festival played a pivotal role in collecting feedback from young Malaysians to finalize DPN 2.0, a policy set to guide stakeholders in consumer-related initiatives. DPN 2.0 aims to address complex challenges in the consumer ecosystem, including weak regulatory enforcement, low consumer literacy, unsafe or non-eco-friendly products, fraudulent transactions, and the misuse of digital technologies like artificial intelligence (AI).

To tackle the rising cost of living, DPN 2.0 introduces inclusive measures such as the Payung Rahmah MADANI Programme, the expanded Portal Ihsan MADANI for price and essential goods information, and cost-of-living indicators to guide consumer spending.

Skuad Kita Pengguna (SKIP) Initiative Launched

KPDN introduced the Skuad Kita Pengguna (SKIP) logo, a key strategy under the KITA GEMPUR initiative to boost public participation in consumer advocacy. SKIP members will collaborate with KPDN to:

– Educate the public on consumer rights and legal recourse.
– Represent diverse sectors to enhance consumer knowledge and skills.
– Partner with private sectors, NGOs, and rural communities to promote widespread consumer advocacy.

KPDN targets 25,000 SKIP members by the end of 2025, positioning them as a bridge between the public and government to address consumer issues responsively.

Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali emphasized DPN 2.0’s role in empowering Malaysian consumers and strengthening the consumer ecosystem.
