PAPAR, SABAH, MALAYSIA February 15. 2026 – The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) will implement Ops Pantau 2026 from February 19 to March 20, 2026, throughout the month of Ramadan, to monitor the supply and prices of essential goods in preparation for Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
In a press statement issued in Papar, Sabah, on February 15, 2026, Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali announced that the operation will emphasize more frequent and targeted inspections and monitoring to protect consumers from unethical practices, such as price gouging.

The scope of Ops Pantau 2026 focuses on:
i. Supply and prices of goods that are in high demand during Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri, including sugar, chicken, chicken eggs, cooking oil, wheat flour, fresh goods, and items for making festive kuih-muih. This includes items listed under the Maximum Price Scheme for Festive Season (SHMMP) Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026;
ii. Business premises conducting sales promotions to prevent misleading advertisements to consumers;
iii. Ramadan bazaars and Hari Raya Aidilfitri bazaars to curb the sale of counterfeit or imitation goods; and
iv. Online sales that contravene existing laws.
Enforcement officers from KPDN nationwide will be deployed to strategic locations and targeted sites, such as Ramadan bazaars, Hari Raya bazaars, public markets, wet markets, morning markets, night markets, farmers’ markets, hypermarkets, supermarkets, mini markets, retail shops, and online platforms to conduct inspections, enforcement actions, and safeguard consumers from unethical traders.
KPDN will also collaborate with Local Authorities (PBT) to ensure traders at Ramadan and Hari Raya bazaars comply with regulations throughout the operation period. Any trader found committing offences will face action under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 [Act 723], with the following penalties:
(i) Failure to display price tags:
(a) Individual: Fine up to RM50,000 by court or compound up to RM25,000;
