Putrajaya, 2 April 2026 — The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) will continue to strengthen the nation’s security approach in a comprehensive manner to face increasingly complex global challenges, including the impacts of the conflict between the United States and Iran.
According to the KDN statement, this approach is not only focused on border control but also encompasses the stability of strategic supplies that form the lifeline of the Malaysian people’s daily lives. Proactive measures, strategic planning, and effective crisis management form the foundation of the MADANI Government’s commitment to ensuring the continued well-being of the people.
“KDN will continue to play an important role as the main driver of national security by ensuring that every risk is addressed thoroughly, focused, and continuously for the interests of the people and the nation,” the statement said.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail stressed that national security is not limited to physical borders alone.
“National security is not only at the borders, but also in ensuring the stability of critical supplies for the well-being of the people,” he said in a statement issued following today’s Strategic Meeting on the Impacts of the US-Iran Conflict.
The meeting discussed the implications of the ongoing conflict on the economy, security, and stability of the country, including the potential disruption to global oil supplies and other security issues that could affect Malaysia.
KDN emphasised its commitment to addressing all risks through a holistic approach, in line with the KDN Strategic Plan 2026–2030, which focuses on domestic security, border control, and overall national stability.
The government is expected to continue closely monitoring developments in the conflict in West Asia and to take the necessary mitigation measures to protect the interests of the nation and its people.
