BEDONG, KEDAH, MALAYSIA Dec 14, 2025 – Students and staff at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Singkir received a major boost today as the Department of Standards Malaysia (JSM), an agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), officially handed over a fully completed infrastructure upgrade project as part of the Sekolah Angkat MADANI initiative.
The handover ceremony marked the completion of comprehensive renovations and improvements to the school’s facilities. Key enhancements include the construction of a new assembly square (Dataran Kejat), installation of an efficient public address (PA) system, building of a volleyball court, and the addition of new doors, windows, air conditioners, and water coolers. These upgrades aim to elevate rural education infrastructure to urban standards, ensuring students in remote areas have access to quality learning environments.
JSM Director-General Encik See Chee Kong described the project as more than just physical improvements, calling it a strong manifestation of the department’s support for the government’s goal of bridging educational disparities. “Through the Sekolah Angkat MADANI initiative, JSM is committed to providing SK Singkir students with a conducive learning environment that fosters their personal development,” he emphasized.
The initiative is seen as a strategic step toward social development and school excellence. With enhanced sports facilities and an improved assembly area, the school is now positioned to serve as a community hub for rural education, aligning with the holistic well-being priorities of the Malaysia MADANI agenda.
The symbolic handover was performed by Encik See Chee Kong to Puan Roslina binti Ahmad, the headmaster of SK Singkir. The event was attended by representatives from the Kedah State Education Department (JPN), Encik Rosmira bin Saad, and the Yan District Education Officer (PPD), Tuan Haji Munawir bin Azizan.
JSM expressed hope that the upgraded facilities will be fully utilized by the SK Singkir community and local residents, contributing to the nation’s vision of producing well-rounded, healthy, and competitive human capital.
