KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia. Aug 19, 2025 — The Jalur Gemilang, Malaysia’s national flag, continues to soar as a powerful symbol of sovereignty and pride, Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi declared today during the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 celebration at the Main Lobby of the Dewan Rakyat.

Speaking at the event attended by Members of Parliament, officials, visitors, and students, Ahmad Zahid expressed gratitude for Malaysia’s 68 years of independence, emphasizing the nation’s enduring peace, harmony, and prosperity. “Every time we see the Jalur Gemilang waving, it ignites a sense of pride and gratitude for living in a free, peaceful, and thriving nation,” he said.
Highlighting the country’s diverse yet united society, he called for continued efforts to preserve Malaysia’s unique harmony, describing it as the nation’s true strength. “For nearly seven decades, we have lived in peace as a multiracial society. This is a beauty we must protect,” he added.
Ahmad Zahid urged young Malaysians to keep the spirit of nationalism alive, stressing that independence is not just a historical milestone but a sacred trust to be passed on to future generations. “May this patriotic fervor never fade, but burn brighter in the hearts of our youth,” he said.
