KOTA KINABALU, August 14, 2025 — The first 2025 meeting of the Main Committee on the Management of Foreigners in Sabah (JKPWAS-Induk) was co-chaired today by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Haji Noor.

In line with the MADANI Reform agenda, the meeting underscored the commitment of the Home Ministry (KDN) and the Sabah State Government to manage and regulate foreigners in Sabah through integrated, effective, and sustained efforts to ensure national security, social harmony, and sustainable economic development.
Key outcomes from the meeting include:
✅ Successful registration of 113,282 foreigners in a centralized digital database system.
✅ 162 enforcement operations conducted since early 2025, resulting in 4,068 detentions for various offenses.
✅ Approval to continue digital data collection until a date set by the Sabah State Government, with expansion to the agriculture, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, and services sectors.
These measures demonstrate that public safety and welfare can only be achieved through close collaboration between the government, enforcement agencies, and the community, aligning with MADANI values that prioritize shared prosperity and national sustainability.
Also in attendance were Datuk Awang Alik bin Jeman, Home Ministry Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Panglima Sr. Haji Safar bin Untong, Sabah State Secretary, Datuk Haji Makhzan bin Mahyuddin, Deputy Secretary-General (Policy and Control) of KDN, and senior federal and Sabah state officials.
