Immigration Dept Cracks Down on Illegal Foreign Workers in Selangor Raids

KAJANG, SELANGOR, Malaysia Aug 21, 2025 – The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) conducted a series of coordinated raids across Selangor, targeting a theme park in Kajang, an industrial factory in Balakong, and a supermarket in Puchong, following public complaints and two weeks of intelligence gathering.

The operation, involving 35 officers of various ranks, resulted in the detention of 94 undocumented foreign workers (PATI) out of 187 individuals screened.

The detained individuals, aged 18 to 49, hail from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, India, Pakistan, and Thailand. They are suspected of violating the Immigration Act 1959/63 by overstaying, misusing passes, and working without valid documentation. All 94 have been placed in detention depots for further investigation and action.

JIM emphasized a zero-tolerance stance toward employers hiring or harboring undocumented workers, as well as foreign nationals posing a threat to public order. The raids reflect JIM’s commitment, alongside the MADANI government, to uphold the law, safeguard public safety, and protect national sovereignty.
