KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, m June 30, 2025 – Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dato’ Sri Hj. Mohd Khalid Hj. Ismail officiated the handover ceremony for the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at a formal event held at the Theatrette Hall, Tower 1, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Headquarters, Bukit Aman, this morning.

The ceremony marked the appointment of CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain as the new Director-General of the Malaysian Border Security and Protection Agency (AKPS), succeeding Dato’ Sri Hazani Ghazali, a prominent figure in PDRM’s senior leadership.
Upon arrival, IGP Dato’ Sri Hj. Mohd Khalid, accompanied by his wife and Chairperson of the Police Family Association (PERKEP) Malaysia, Datin Sri Hjh. Munirah Che Rose, was welcomed by Deputy IGP DIG Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay and Director of Management, CP Dato’ Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid, who chaired the organizing committee.
The event began with the signing and exchange of handover documents, followed by the symbolic passing of the baton between CID Director CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain and Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation (Intelligence/Operations), DCP Dato’ Fadil Marsus, who will act in the role. Both ceremonies were witnessed by the IGP.
In his address, Dato’ Sri Hj. Mohd Khalid praised Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily’s impactful tenure as CID Director, noting his leadership in tackling high-profile criminal cases that tested the department’s capabilities while earning public and national leaders’ confidence in PDRM’s credibility, particularly the CID.
“Today’s leadership transition is not merely an administrative process but a strategic move to disseminate PDRM’s leadership qualities, work culture, and expertise across various enforcement agencies. This fosters uniformity, strengthens organizational integrity, and enhances national success,” he said.
He added that PDRM’s leadership and personnel take pride in the Government’s trust in appointing Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily to lead AKPS.
The ceremony also saw the handover of the PERKEP CID Chairperson role from Datin Sri Ennie Salina Roseli to acting Chairperson Datin Nurashidah Ishak, witnessed by Datin Sri Hjh. Munirah Che Rose.
The event was attended by PDRM Directors, senior officers, PERKEP members, and media representatives.
