PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA February 6, 2026 – Malaysia will receive an official visit from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on 7 to 8 February 2026. This visit is held at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and serves as a reciprocal visit following Anwar’s visit to India in August 2024.
According to a media statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) dated 6 February 2026, this visit reflects the strong and mutually respectful diplomatic relations between the two countries. The KDN, through the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), is responsible for making comprehensive security arrangements to ensure no incidents disrupt public order.
In this regard, the KDN urges the public not to hold any gatherings in public places throughout the duration of the official visit. The PDRM will also meet with organizers of any planned gatherings and request their cooperation to refrain from proceeding with such events.
As the ministry tasked with safeguarding national security, the KDN and PDRM will carry out their responsibilities professionally and firmly to guarantee the safety of the people and the stability of the country.
This visit marks the elevation of bilateral relations to the level of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership since 2024, with an agenda that includes bilateral discussions, the India-Malaysia CEO Forum, and interactions with the Indian diaspora community in Malaysia.
The public is requested to give full cooperation to the security authorities to ensure the smooth conduct of this visit.
