PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA Oct 2, 2025 – The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) has strongly condemned Israel’s actions in obstructing the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian mission to Gaza, while expressing full solidarity with Malaysians demanding the release of local activists who have been detained.

In an official statement released yesterday, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail expressed his outrage over Israel’s interception of ships carrying volunteers and essential aid for Palestinians. “I stand in solidarity with the Malaysian people in condemning in the strongest terms the Zionist regime of Israel’s interception and detention of the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian mission to Gaza,” he said.
He emphasized that Israel’s actions constitute a “blatant violation of international law and universal humanitarian values,” where the ships should be protected rather than obstructed with violence.
Saifuddin also supported the Malaysian people’s demands for the immediate release of the activists and volunteers involved in the mission. He praised the peaceful gatherings organized by some groups as a right guaranteed by the Federal Constitution, which carries our voice of solidarity on the humanitarian issue in Palestine.
However, he strongly condemned the “irresponsible actions” of certain parties during the gathering in front of the United States Embassy on October 2, 2025, who attempted to obstruct members of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) from performing their duties. “Some parties acted beyond limits, even injuring police officers,” he said, noting that PDRM personnel were on the ground to ensure public safety and order.
The minister advised that the right to peaceful assembly must be exercised in an orderly, prudent manner and in compliance with the law, without compromising public safety or obstructing public officials. “No party can use the pretext of assembly to incite chaos or pose a threat to national security,” he stressed.
Saifuddin is confident that PDRM will continue to carry out their duties and responsibilities based on the law to safeguard the people’s safety and national tranquility. He also called on the public to respect the law, comply with regulations, and provide full cooperation to the authorities.
His ministry, together with the voice of the Malaysian people, urges the immediate release of all activists and volunteers, especially Malaysian citizens involved, without any conditions. “They are unarmed civilians carrying out a purely humanitarian mission to deliver much-needed aid to the people of Gaza,” he said.
He added that the safety of Malaysians is always a priority, and the Malaysian Government will continue to use all diplomatic channels and international law to hold Israel accountable for these cruel actions. “Malaysia remains steadfast in standing with the Palestinian people until justice and freedom become theirs,” Saifuddin concluded.
This statement comes amid international attention to the conflict in Gaza, where the Sumud Flotilla mission aims to deliver food and medical aid to residents facing a humanitarian crisis.
